Anexcursion usually entails taking some form of transportation, a school bus, trainand/ or public transit buses unless it's a neighborhood walk. Haitian- American students from the newly founded Cross Town Enrichment program(C-TEC) attended the Asian Spectrum Chinese New Year's celebration less than a two block walk from TRICAP to the Beebee School.  This field trip was part of the Social Studies& Cutlure component of the program organized by Nekita Lamour and her general assistant Zhiming Mo. By the looks on their faces, the students seemed to have the field trip of a lifetime.

The spectacular event included music and dance performances  from Korea, China, and the Philippines. The students were delighted to see anumber of  elected officials such as Mayor Richard  Howard, Ward 1 Councilor Gary Christenson,  State RepresentativeChristopher Fallon, Councilor at large Craig Spadafora,  Ward 3 School Committee, Kevin Duffy.

Thestudents ate at the table with Mayor Howard and Councilor Gary Christenson. It is a rare occasion for middle school children  to see so many electedofficials all at once. What a memorable SocialStudies related field trip!  Thank you
Malden elected officials and the organizers fromAsian Spectrum for making the day so enjoyable for the Haitian-American childrenwho have witnessed  so much trauma on theaftermath of January 12 earthquake. Thank you TRICAP and Malden RedevelopmentAuthority for making the CTEC program possible.
